“Success with M&A requires intense focus on four potential failure points: strategic logic, valuation, due diligence, and post-deal integration. The high rates of failure commonly – and correctly – ascribed to M&A typically trace back to a lack of rigorous attention paid to one or more of these four failure points.”
David Rosenblum has nearly 40 years experience as a management consultant and advisor across a wide range of industries, with particular focus on healthcare and financial services. He has worked intensively in the areas of strategy, finance, and M&A, with a particular focus on helping clients achieve strategic value through acquisitions and divestitures. As a senior partner at Deloitte Consulting, he led the strategy service line; was COO for a highly successful $800 million business unit; and established and led a corporate development function that, over a two year period, screened over 200 potential transactions, closing 10 deals that positioned the firm in key high growth markets. He is an advisor to a well-known private equity firm and has advised on both the buy and sell-sides since retiring from Deloitte Consulting in 2013. He is an advisor to a medical diagnostics start-up and a LP in an early stage venture capital fund.
David serves on the boards of Hanmi Financial (Nasdaq: HAFC) and the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, as well as serving as chairman and board member for the National Association of Corporate Directors Southern California Chapter. He previously has served on the board of Deloitte Consulting LLP; as chair of the Echo Foundation; and as a trustee of Wesleyan University. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan, where he majored in economics, he also received a MBA in finance from Wharton.
