There’s nothing strategic about losing money. I’ve learned that authenticity, candor, and a beginner’s mindset can create help clarity and focus for companies of all sizes. The results are high-performing teams who grow revenue and profit, finding joy along the way.

Healthcare management executive and board director, Denise Brown, brings thirty-plus years of business and clinical experience to her work as partner and management consultant at SagePartners’ Strategic & Advisory and Venture Growth groups—helping early-stage to venture-backed companies capture untapped value.

Denise has served as CEO, chief strategy and growth officer, and healthcare executive for $2 million to $1.4 billion companies, leading organizational turnarounds and restructurings, rebrandings, technology transformations, exits, and a range of corporate transactions (e.g., M&A, joint ventures, partnerships).

Examples include leading the restructuring and sale of Fident Health to Avel eCare, a virtual health company that reimagined the future of rural telemedicine—shepherding the company’s transition from a founder-led organization to a fully professionalized growth engine.

She also helped revolutionize the delivery of acute care medicine at Vituity (formerly CEP America, LLC), by developing new care models—architecting and leading the company’s evolution from 50 to 350 hospitals, and ultimately growing the privately held partnership from $600M to $1.4B.

Denise’s experience spans corporate governance and strategic vision setting, corporate strategy and strategic finance, revenue infrastructure design and operational re-architecture, corporate rebranding, and strategic partnerships, as well as workforce optimization and culture development.

A nationally recognized speaker, Denise regularly appears as a keynote, panelist, and podcast guest, and presently hosts Disruptive Health, a NowMedia Television show that highlights advancements in medical science.

She holds a doctor of medicine degree from The University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, with residencies at Stanford University Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Denise earned her undergraduate degree in political science and pre-med from the University of California, Berkeley.

Board appointments include the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, Dignity Health / Sequoia Hospital Foundation, and Impact Austin. She is a founding member of Vituity, LLC’s Women in Medicine Enterprise Resource Group, with memberships in Chief and CNEXT.
